Hans Fahden 2013 BDX Red Blend
GOLD MEDAL | 2018 San Francisco International Wine Competition - 92 points
Aromas of ripe blackberries and blackcurrants with hints of cedar. Concentrated black fruits are dense with fine grade tannins that provide a long, lengthy finish.
VINEYARD AND WINEMAKING
The 2013 BDX is named for a classic Bordeaux blend, and this red blend from the Sonoma County AVA lives up to the name and then some. A seamless, classic Hans Fahden red blend of 26% Estate Cabernet, 30% Petite Verdot, and 44% Malbec. Bottled 260 cases.
This beautiful wine in the Bordeaux style features Sonoma County grapes. Opens with deep and heady notes of cassis, black licorice, blueberry, fall pie spices, with hints of vanilla pipe tobacco, violets, and oak spice. The palate follows with complex notes of ripe plum, fresh fig, blackberry syrup, maple, and cassis, with touches of cola spice, round tannins and a long, lingering finish.
